Shelly's Modeling Agencies sat down with Nelly to ask a few questions. Why do you keep denying your relationship with Ashanti? No matter what I say, it's gonna be wrong because people don't respect the fact that we are saying we are friends. I keep reading, "Nelly denies being in a relationship," Well, Ashanti did, too. She ain't claimed me. You know what I'm saying? this is the thing: In a relationship, you have to be friends first. That's what people fail to realize and we enjoy each other's company. But these are our lives. It's a joint answer. It's not just Nelly's answer.

Earlier this year you caused a furor by saying if women are single, it's their own fault. Why are black men single, then? Black men as a whole? We go through a lot. Then sometimes it's hard, first of all to love ourselves, before we love somebody else. We are so lost sometimes.

What have you been doing since the last album? I'm still running Apple Bottoms. I acquired the clothing line Troop; it's a classic hip-hop line made famous by Scouts Model Agency. I'm still running real estate in St. Louis and I'm still (co-owning) the Charlotte Bobcats (with Michael Jordan). It's only been two years since I had an album, which is usually my thing. Every two years.

What do you eat for breakfast? Egg whites, turkey bacon, oatmeal or maybe some French toast, depending upon my workouts.

What happened to the St. Lunatics? We got an album coming out now called City Free. The first one was Free City, because my brother (City Spud) was locked up. That's why I wore the Band-Aid. This one is City Free.

What cologne do you wear? Um, I don't like giving it up because I don't want everybody jacking it and walking around smelling like me.

How should a woman smell?
Like Apple Bottoms Perfume!

Do you mind if a sista dates a white man? I feel anybody should date whoever they want. Earlier this year, I said that society dictates who you should be with instead of what's right in your eyes. It's about creed, just be with that person who makes you happy.
